On June 13th, Assistant Minister of Commerce Chen Chunjiang held a symposium with foreign-invested enterprises in the chemical and energy industries to learn about their operations in China, difficulties, requests, and suggestions on how to improve China’s business environment. The symposium was joined by representatives from Exxon Mobil, AGC, Covestro, Air Products, Saudi Aramco, Dow, and the International Association of Chemical Manufacturers, etc, and officials from China’s National Development and Reform Commission and National Energy Administration.

Assistant Minister Chen reaffirmed China’s commitment to advance the vision for high-standard opening-up, and steadily expand institutional opening-up with regard to rules, regulations, management, and standards. China will continue to provide a nice business environment and sound services to FIEs, and encourages FIEs to seize the opportunities in China’s green and low-carbon transformation. FIEs are welcome to grow and prosper in China.

Representatives from FIEs appreciated the work of MOFCOM, especially services and support from the task force on major foreign-invested projects. They also expressed confidence and readiness to expand business footprint in China.
